(mainly) My poetry

Baczyński's language is incredible. While reading his poems it's hard not to notice connections between his use of metaphors and the way his role-model, Juliusz Słowacki, did. Both of them started something that wasn't so popular before, creating metaphors out of two words that seemingly had nothing in common (as in Słowacki's "jaskółczy niepokój" - eng. swallow-like restlessness). Baczyński takes this manner of writing to a different level. His poems are full of magical words, which create a mysterious aura. On the other hand there's Kamil's war poetry that moves hearts like no other. He draws heart-breaking images with such beautiful words.

RM is a great lyricist, playing word games in two languages is a wonderful talent of his.
He said himself that he wanted to be a poet, when he was little. Being a lyricist, it is who he had become at last. His lyrics are poetry.
Sometimes they are autobiographical and rough. This is what touches me the most. However his honesty isn't harsh. It's poetic. Balancing on the edge between two languages he created his own voice inspired by those who came before him. I love to see how other artists influence my favourites and RM isn't hiding his interest in works of his icons. He colaborates with them, uses their words in his lyrics (as shown in "Yun"). In this way art becomes a river that flows continuously and does not allow any amazing artworks to disappear from society's eye because it nurishies work of the newer generations of creators.

I touched this subject a little bit in ***. Yoongi's way of writing is way more harsh than Namjoon's. He's unapologetically honest, shares a lot about his own fears and problems. And this is why people love his lyrics. They might not have been through the same as the author but that pain resonates almost with everybody.
Some time ago I did a small graph to represent reoccuring themes and motives througout Yoongi's discography. I love how cohesive it is! This is what I found:

Taylor's manner of writing songs has become incredibly popular in recent years. No wonder, since it was a big factor in her success. What's so amazing about it? For me it's the way she uses objects to tell a story. She's being peculiarly specific in her descriptions, there's always a few objects: a cardigan, christmas lights, paper rings, guitar string scar, a scarf, a special shade of colour (lavender, maroon etc.). It used to be uncommon to tell a love story in a song through such simple yet detailed things. But this is what makes the stories easier to relate to. They seem more realistic, it's easier to imagine them happen. To Taylor or to any of her listeners.
Other then that - I love how, especially in her earlier works, Tay used to pick the most random and amazing words (mostly adjectives), such as wonderstruck or enchanted, and made a song with them. Using sophisticated vocabulary is now something that became her thing.
